I arrived at Grenville’s just after 7 am there was a strong northerly blowing I was soon walking with a bucket too choose a swim I didn’t get past peg 8 it looked spot on quickly it was back to the van gear dropped. It wasn’t long before I had the marker float out where I wanted it and a kg of element boilies and a kg of mixed pellets with 2 rods close together in the zone. The third was fished on its own off the corner of the island . its was only a few hours later when a fish showed just off the back of the zone a couple of minutes later the middle rod went into meltdown a short but spirited fight a gorgeous 24 lb scaly mirror was held aloft for the camera. With the rod recast I sat back with a cup of tea to celebrate . only an hour later the rod fished on its own signalled a slow but positive bite after a slow and heavy battle finished with a solid 44 lb 4 oz mirror it still looked perfect for more bites but no more bites happened .

44lb 4oz
