The last pictures of the season.
The lake is closed as of this morning.
I still have pictures to add for the this season.
And i will also soon be revealing the winner of the carp catch lotto
Dad thinks the fish may spawn in the next couple of days, if they do the lake will close immediately. so just letting members know if they are travelling a long distance to fish, it maybe hit or miss.
Caught Wednesday morning,
Karl Pitcher’s catches and comments
I hooked the fish at 6.30 last night from peg 6. the fish gave a sow but steady fight all the way in and felt like a good fish, but the fish kited right and took me into a weedbed,OH NO i though.lol. I layed the rod back on the rest and waited for two hours until the fish freed its self. at this point the fish had gained back all its energy and took another good fight before jimbobeto splipped the net under the fish.RESULT!! It was caught at long range on a homemade karlito pop. This is showing how important it is to dump the lead on the take.BE PATIENT AND DONT PULL FOR A BREAK IF U GET WEEDED UP.
The catches from the weekend
Paul Miller’s comments and catches
“I had been watching the fish getting closer and closer to me and with only two hours of my session left one rod went and the 18lb scaley was the result. I then noticed three fish jump in the same place in a short space of time and with 1 hour to go I wound a rod in and cast as near as possible to the rising fish. A few minutes later my rod screamed off and the result was the 32lb 14oz mirror. Well worth the recast.”
with a new personal best!
Andrew Smith’s catches and comments
“After a few hours in peg 21 i had a 21-13 but then nothing for 40hrs so reeled in for a move to find a crocodile on the end about 8Ib!! wind was hacking into peg 3 and looked prime for a fish and it was easy being next to car park as i only had a 4 hours left, wacked out 2 rods a long way as far as i could, 1 hr later right hand rod screamed off, this felt a very big fish, kiting to peg 4 i couldnt stop it, Karl turned up and got the chest waders on and got in as it was heading for the reeds, after a long hard battle it was in the net, a massive thanks to Karl because i was in a bit of trouble with the reeds, 31-07, not the monster i thought it was going to be but thats Grenville all over, you think you have a small fish on then find out its a mid 30 or bigger, have a small one and it feels like a forty!! Re-cast while the fish was in the net, quickly weighed and photos then same rods screams off again within 10 mins, that one was the 25-0. Just goes to show even with only 4hrs left of the session sometimes its worth a move, its worked for me a few times now as a blank saver ;-)”
