After another record year for Grenville Lake, with a record number of carp being caught by the members, and a record number of thirties being landed it is time to say goodbye to the old and start looking forward to the new.
What will the Spring bring, It is usually a very productive few months for Grenville and it will be interesting to see how many more thirties or even forties we will finally catch, and whether there will be a new Lake record before the end of the season. Will Bigdog’s, amazing streak continue or come to an end, will Viney sell the carp gear and concentrate on the lakes eel population, and the question we all ask ourselves every year at this time, will Ron actually catch a fish, all of this we will have to wait and see 🙂
On a more serious note,
Paul has asked me to wish you all A very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year and hopes that You all manage to catch your target fish from the lake before too long. Helen and I obviously echo that sentiment and we all look forward to seeing you back at the lake as soon as the weather improves.
Have a good one
Despite the very cold conditions five of our more intrepid anglers braved the worst the weather could throw at them between Christmas and New Year. Bigvan, and Oz travelled down from Oop North, Oz brought his gorgeous girlfriend Caroline with him, she had rather a novel idea to beat the cold which involved shocking herself almost everytime she climbed over the fence, Ouch. Hope you have recovered ok Caroline 🙂
Ron, Viney and young Jamie also fished for the two nights, fair play to you all guys, although you never caught I know you all had a good time, and that after all is what it is all about.
The only fish from the weekend to come to my attention while I was sat in the warm and the dry is a 28lber to the BigDog. The fish came an hour after casting out in swim 15 and Andy went on to prove it was a fluke by blanking for the next 48 hours 🙂
No idea how many were fishing but if theres any brave souls fishing through the coming snow then send me a few pics to email@example.com
Only one angler managing to catch fish this weekend. Once the weekend anglers had left Anton (bigvan) arrived. He set himself up in swim 18 for 48 hrs of cold miserable winter weather fishdedication to the cause paid off in fine style, and he managed to land four fish. Three doubles weighing in at weights of 10, 12 and 15lb’s respectively.
The session was rounded off in fine style with a lovely fish of 32lb gracing his net. Unfortunately there are no pic’s available at present .
A very well deserved result from a good angler.
